FAQ

Do you shoot destination weddings?

Yes!! Though I primarily photograph in the Pacific Northwest, I have also photographed throughout the continental US and to Canada for photography. I'd also be up for international travel.

Will there be a second shooter?

I do generally photograph alone, a second photographer may be added to wedding coverage at an additional fee. I find that most weddings I photograph do not *need* a second photographer, although some events do benefit from having that second camera. Please inquire for more details.

Can I extend the wedding coverage on the day of?

Wedding coverage can be added to the end of your day with ease, and will cost the hourly wedding photography rate. However, depending on the exact location and time of your wedding, overnight accommodations may be required, and will incur an additional fee.

What kind of gear do you use?

I am a digital photographer who primarily shoots with available light. I do supplement with flash when needed, usually during receptions or in very dimly lit settings. I currently use Nikon, but have also used Canon in the past.

It's not going to be sunny, what do we do!?

Some of my favorite portraits have been taken on overcast or rainy days. Because we live in the Pacific Northwest and it generally rains at least half of the year, I either plan to shoot through the rain (within reason) and use natural shelter like trees, or get creative by using umbrellas or other forms of cover. If it's REALLY raining and the session can be rescheduled, this can be done as long as I still have availability.

Can you pose me / my family / my partner?

Some sessions are inherently more heavy on posing, such as boudoir sessions and graduation portraits. However, I generally use prompts to guide my clients through a session. Sometimes the prompts are more serious, and sometimes they are more silly, but more often than not they guide my clients into more natural-feeling body positions and expressions.

Will you take a portrait with a (insert prop or other object here)?

Though I am not a prop-heavy photographer, I also want to make sure to capture your personality. I'll do my best to get creative with whatever you decide to bring along to your session.

Can we include our pet(s)?

While I do welcome pets into my sessions and weddings, I do not consider myself a pet photographer and therefore do not guarantee how these images turn out. If you'd really like to include your pet in a session, I recommend brining their favorite treats as an incentive, and a comfort item.

Do I have to order prints through you?

You have the option of ordering prints directly from your gallery. You may also use your high resolution files (when provided with your session) to make prints.

How do I book you?

Sessions and weddings require a signed contract and non-refundable retainer fee paid upfront in order to hold your session or event date. The remainder of your balance will be due the day of your session for portraits, or two weeks before your wedding.
